A significant number of Filipino passengers fly onboard many Middle East airlines to get to their destination, most especially the United States.
March of this year, the US imposed a ban on laptops and large electronic gadgets onboard flights that originate from 8 countries and 10 airports namely Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. For security reasons was cited about the US move on this implementation.
Last week, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines announced a lifting of the ban. Taking effect immediately, and due to enhanced security measures from Kuwait Airways and Royal Jordanian, these two flag carriers of their respective countries, have joined the lift on laptop and electronic gadgets ban by the US.
Kuwait Airways which flies via Ireland to New York, USA has announced last July 9th that passengers could now take laptops and large electronic devices onboard flights to the United States.
