Selling of newborn babies in some parts of Kuwait
Recently, an expat woman from the Philippines was arrested by local police for selling newborn babies. She was put under surveillance for some time due to reports that she is part of a group selling babies born out of wedlock here in Kuwait.
The suspect was arrested together with one mother and four newborn babies. When interrogated by the police, the expat woman readily admitted that she acted as midwife to the pregnant women during childbirth and once born, she took the babies and sold them for KD 250 to childless couples. However, the nationalities of her “clients” were not divulged.
