PESO stands for Public Employment Service Office
When we speak of PESO, what first comes to mind is our Philippine currency. But are you aware that PESO has another meaning which is also very helpful to every Filipino? PESO – Public Employment Service Office is a multi-employment service facility established in accordance with Republic Act No. 8759 otherwise known as the PESO Act of 1999.
PESOs are established nationwide in all capital towns of provinces, major cities and many other municipalities throughout the country. It is community-based wherein local government units (LGUs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), state universities and colleges (SUCs) work hand in hand to help provide full and equal employment opportunities for every Filipino.
The Department of Labor and Employment is directly linked with PESO for coordination and technical supervision.
