The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) conducted OLEP 3 or On-site Labor Education Program at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Salwa, Kuwait last September 4th.
Registration and breakfast started at 7 am. Prayers – Muslim, Christian followed by Philippine National Anthem and Kuwait National Anthem. The participants were recognized by Ms. Maria Fatima DP Dazal and Ms. Hannah L. Manangca. Labor Attache II Atty. Cesar L. Chavez, Jr. gave the Welcome Remarks while Program Overview and Expectation were shared by Ms. Ma. Sarah A.I. Concepcion,MD, Welfare Officer and Ms. Lily Pearl L. Guerrero, Labor Attache I introduced the Guest of Honor.
His Excellency Renato P. O. Villa, Ambassador of the Philippines to Kuwait gave his Inspirational Message. Kuwait Labor Law, POEA Rules and Regulations and other laws affecting OFWs were presented by Labor Attache II, Atty. Cesar L. Chavez Jr.
After the intermission number, the second part of the program which is the Seminar Proper commenced.
BM Online POLO Services was discussed by Ms. Angelita S. Narvaez, Labor Attache I. On-Site Case Management and Handling of Visa 20, Mr. Nestor P. Burayag, Welfare Officer was the next speaker. FIL – ASEAK was introduced by its Secretary, Mr. Paulo Angelo E. Liwanag. Lunch was served and also a time to refresh for the speakers and participants.
ATNU Services was detailed by Vice Consul Atty. Shiena Red Escoto-Tesorero, SSS Services by Mr. Juan D. Eribal Jr., a representative of SSS. Mr. Mahmoud B. Khalil, Pag-Ibig Fund representative shared how OFWs can benefit from the program. Selected participants gave their insights on the topics taken and an open forum started.
Closing Remarks was shared by Consul General Atty. Raul H. Dado while certificates were given by H.E. Renato P.O. Villa, Atty. Raul H. Dado and Atty. Cesar L. Chavez, Jr.
