Kuwait Amir Donates $10M to the Victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda (CN Haiyan)

KUWAIT, Nov 13 — His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has ordered donation of USD 10 million worth of urgent aid to the Philippines, to help the nation cope with heavy losses caused by Super Typhoon Haiyan (Local Name: Yolanda).

In a statement to KUNA, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Health Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said His Highness the Amir has given the orders to dispatch the aid urgently, in line with the State keenness on playing its well-known humanitarian role in such tragedies.

Kuwait is sending the relief assistance in solidarity with the Filipinos who were affected with the destructive typhoon that swept the Philippines, leaving behind thousands of victims, missing people, relocated millions others and inflicted heavy material losses.

The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, also extended his sympathies to those who have been greatly affected by the super typhoon.
