Increased healthcare fees for expats and visitors in Kuwait

Health Minister Dr. Jamal Al – Harbi has informed that by middle of February this year, health care costs for expats and visitors to Kuwait will be as follows;

  • Treatment of tumors with TheraSphere, KD 5,000 for visitors and KD 500 for expat residents.
  • Treatment of bone cancer with isotopes, KD 1,000 for visitors and KD 500 for expats.
  • X-rays and laboratory tests including thyroid gland, KD 40 for expats and KD 90 for visitors.
  • Thyrogen injection, KD 500 for residents and KD 790 for visitors.
  • Tests for esophagus and gastric reflux, stomach, liver, spleen, gall bladder and blood vessels, KD 50 for expats and KD 100 for visitors.
  • Cardiology test KD 50 for expats and KD 100 for visitors.
  • Ischemic heart testing KD 50 for expats and KD 100 for visitors.
  • Blood plasma tests KD 250 for expats and KD 470 for visitors.
  • Mammography KD 50 for expats and KD 100 for visitors.
  • Testicular test KD 40 for expats and KD 90 for visitors.
  • Vein tests KD 40 for expats and KD 90 for visitors.
  • Lung aeration test KD 50 for expats and KD 110 for visitors.
  • Kidney tests with DMSA and MAG 3, KD 40 for expats and KD 90 for visitors.
  • Spinal cord test KD 50 for expats and KD 100 for visitors.
  • Pregnancy ultrasound KD 30.
  • CT scans KD 80.
  • MRI scans KD 120.
 The increase has been allowed to minimize the influx of visitors who enter the country to avail of low cost healthcare from before.
