Expat teachers to receive less allowance

The housing allowance of all expat teachers in Kuwait, regardless of marital status, either male of female, will be reduced from KD 150 to KD 60. This has been recently approved by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, acting Minister of Oil and chairman of the Board Directors of Civil Service Commission Anas Al- Saleh.

The board’s decision on amending the housing allowance paid to non-Kuwaiti teachers covers all those employed under the Ministry of Education and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), according to the report from Al-Rai.

In related news, to the second article of law number 38 of 2016 “a husband receiving housing allowance from his employer (government or public or joint or private sector) does not deserve housing allowance”, and the third article cancels any action that contradicts with the decision.
