Businessmen in Kuwait who have less than 5 employees are required to pay their salary in cash. This is in accordance with a new decision issued by the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM). There is no need to for the employers to write a check or transfer thru banks.

Spokesperson and Director of Public Relations and Information of Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), Aseel Al – Mizyed reiterated that employers should prepare some record to show that the salaries were paid on time to the employees. The inspection department will prepare a register of those paying employees their salaries without transferring it to banks, she added.

This is good news for expats working under small businesses because their release of salary is assured and secured on time.
