Cancellation of licenses on more than 40 Domestic Labor Offices in Kuwait
The Ministry of Interior Domestic Workers Department through its Director Mohammad Al – Ajmi, has announced the cancellation of more than 40 domestic labor offices in Kuwait, if they won’t comply with the requirements needed for continuous operations.
Domestic labor offices in Kuwait have been called to rectify their status in accordance with Article 50 of Domestic Workers Law number 68/2015, as well as number 7 of Article 17 of Ministerial Decision Number 2194/2016.
Under Article 50 law number 68/2015 it is obligatory for licensed domestic labor offices to rectify their status according to the new law, or else, they will lose their license. The same also goes under Article 17 of Ministerial Decision Number 2194/2016 stating the withdrawal of license issued to a domestic labor office upon the instruction of the Interior Minister in certain situations: If the office violated licensing conditions, if it provided false information, in case of its dissolution, sublicensing activities, transformation of its branches into housing units for domestic workers, among others.
