May this serve as a warning to all kabayans (Filipinos) wanting to apply for job offers in Qatar. Allegedly, there is a recruitment agency in the Philippines that processes job offers from Qatar mostly for female applicants, possibly as clerks or secretaries.
Staff of the Philippine recruitment agency states that the job offer includes free accommodation, free board and lodging, free Wifi, free transportation allowance. The Filipino women will leave as tourists but upon arriving in Qatar, they will be given proper accommodation, Visa and in process, Qatar ID. Sounds very good.
Victims who were able to escape bravely exposed the truth via social media. Accommodation is free but the rest is not. There are many illegal Filipino women employees at the accommodation because the company is allegedly not doing anything to legally process the employees’ Visa. Usually, tourist visa to Qatar is only 30 days and you have to exit the country.
The company allegedly does not allow its employees to exit; they just stay at the accommodation after work with no existing legal documents. The company allegedly is imposing some set of rules and if the employee will not follow, she will be reported as runaway to the police. If reported, the employee will be taken to the CID for deportation and will be banned from re-entry to Qatar for two (2) years. In this case, the company will not be fined for the employee’s overstay in Qatar.
