Temperatures not only in Kuwait but in most parts of the globe are dropping. This means that cooler weather conditions will soon be expected. The changes in temperature usually cause colds, flu and other illnesses.
Here are some important reminders on how to stay healthy during cold weather;
1. Eat healthy and eat well.
A proper diet is one of the best prevention for sickness. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
Take time to exercise. Walking and indoor movements help a lot to keep yourself fit and healthy.
3. Wash your hands…a lot.
Our hands easily catch germs because we touch a lot of things. It is always best to wash your hands properly especially before you eat. Even if you use spoon and fork, it is still best to wash your hands.
4. Cover when you sneeze.
A sneeze is a powerful expulsion of air from the lungs through the nose and mouth caused by irritants. It is polite and healthy to cover your nose and mouth when you feel that a sneeze is about to come.
5. Take multivitamins or food supplement.
As we grow older, studies show that our body does not get enough nutrients from the food we eat. A daily dose of multivitamin or food supplement will be helpful to keep us healthy and strong.
6. Bring hand sanitizer.
Sometimes, you cannot wash your hands often because you are busy at work. Keep a hand sanitizer everywhere you go and use it when necessary.
7. Drink lots of fluids.
Water and fresh fruit juices keep you healthy, warm and gives vitamins and minerals. Make it a habit to drink most of the time.
8. Get enough sleep.
Daily activities may drain your energy level and affect your immune system. Getting enough sleep is one of the best ways to replenish what you have lost during the day.
